The Ardèche Gorges in pictures...
A deep, breathtaking "defile", with unexpected, impressive viewpoints, unspoilt, peaceful scenery..., the Ardèche Gorges are known far and wide, with its Pont d'Arc!
This series of sinuous canyons is a superb natural, open-air museum, and a paradise for those who love canoeing.
Since 1932, the 20-miles descent of the Gorges, which includes twenty-five rapids, has been a must for all who wish to enjoy the ultimate in thrills in this challenging sport!
One can also make the short descent which is 5 miles only!
Walkers can complete much the same route in around 12 hours .
By road (the D 290), with a dozen viewpoints, motorists can also explore the Gorges in all their impressive majesty.

# Marathon of the Ardèche Gorges:
Each year in November, in a fair play and friendly atmosphere, Olympic champions, world champions, elite athletes but also casual paddlers meet in the prestigious surroundings of the Ardèche gorges to the famous "downhill legend 'of 35 km from Vallon Pont Arc to St Martin d'Ardèche by crossing the Gorges nature reserve
Over the years, the Ardèche Gorges International Marathon became one of the largest global gatherings of the discipline.
