Responsible Tourism

Aware of being the guardians of a heritage that is both priceless and fragile, the players in Ardèche tourism have mobilised to preserve it and share it with respect and educational benefits. This is what we call ecotourism. Tourism centred on discovering nature, with respect for the environment and local populations whose well being is preserved whilst encouraging them to become involved in organising it.

Numerous professionals have been engaged in putting together visits allowing appreciation and understanding of this natural and cultural heritage and its conservation. Living in an ecological house, understanding its operation, living in osmosis with nature, taking full benefit from it without destroying it… there are so many experiences to explore.

Setting up an ‘Ecotourism’ industry in Ardèche reveals great ambition. This initiative is part of a general development of awareness of the challenges of sustainable development and also corresponds to the new aspirations of customer who find more fundamental values in Ardèche.

The Ardèche wants to be an exemplary ecological model. This desire has been brought out by the magazine ‘La Vie’ which has revealed its 2009 ecological awards for the 95 French departments. The Ardèche has been proud to raise itself to 1st in the general classification.
