    Hiking - The "GR de pays"

    The GR de pays in Ardèche
    Hiking in Ardèche
    in a few figures is 6,000 km of trails including 600 km of hiking
    trails
    (Grande Randonnée), 750 km
    of country hiking trails
    (GR de Pays)
    and more than 4,500 km of footpaths.

    # Around Vernoux (84 km)
    Five steps circuit allowing to discover a landscape combining the rich grasslands and cultivated terraces, pine or beech woods and secular chestnut trees, small quiet streams and rivers that have cut deep gorges, all at an average high of 600 m and 30 km from Valence.

    # Around Annonay (112 km)
    Discovering the Deûme and the Vocance valleys () as well as the plateaux at the gateway to the Rhône Valley.

    # Ardèche mountains tour (256 km, from 3 to 15 days )
    This trail consists of two tours in circle: the Tanargue Massif with steep mountains and wild rivers such as the Borne, The Beaume, or the Ardèche. The second one with the sources of the Loire allowing to discover the volcanic landscapes at a higher altitude than the Ardèche mountains plateaux.

    # The Cévenol (86 km)
    A 5 or 6 steps walk between the Cévennes and the Tanargue following the wild gorges, an invitation for swimming! From the brooms to the pines, from the beech to the chestnut trees, from the granite to the shist without forgetting the gneiss, the Cévenol tour is a contrasted path par excellence.

    # The Tanargue tour (66 km)
    Circle hiking trail starting from Largentière (). Much of the track follows the ridge and joins the GR 4 in Loubaresse (). The dolmens trail links the Tanargue tour (in Largentière ) to the GR 4 (in Comps).

    # The Mézenc-Gerbier tour (110 km)
    A five steps tour to explore the Ardèche mountains. It consists of a main tour that circles Mont-Mézenc and Mont-Gerbier-de-Jonc from a distance, and a 33,5 km diagonal track linking directly the villages of Fay sur Lignon and Sagnes et Goudoulet, passing at the foot of The Mont-Mézenc and the Mont-Gerbier-de-Jonc. This diagonal line allows to make the tour in 3 or 4 days.



    # The Ardèche Haute-Cévennes tour (82 km) - June 2007

    A 4 steps tour. A main tour in the heart of the Haute-Cévenne, steps of 17 to 23 km, from Antraigues () to the Ardèche mountains. A 17 km diagonal track allows to complete the circuit in 3 days, from Mézilhac to Antraigues (), above the Besorgues valley. Four "satellites" tours in the other areas of the Ardèche Haute-Cévennes: " Vestide du Pal" (32 km), " Aïgo Vivo" (33.7 km), "Chestnut trees" (37 , 6 km) or " Basalt organs" (40.2 km), four suggestions of theme-based week-ends, introduction to itinerant hiking tours.
