Horse riding in Ardèche
Wandering through Ardèche on the back of your preferred horse, in the company of friends sharing the same enthusiasm, isn't that a relaxing project to which our magnificent department lends itself ?
From North to South and from East to West, with its 13 (orange) marked bridle trails and with the benefit of its 8 itinerary based department circuits, the Ardèche now offers 1,120 km of marked and maintained paths covering the whole of its territory.
The Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park has laid out an 80km bridleway in the north of the area around Boutières, Sucs, Mézenc and the Plateau de Vernoux.
Travel the whole route in seven days or chose a shorter option lasting from 2 to 5 days.
An illustrated map is available and the routes are also available to download to GPS systems via the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park website .
For independent riders, these itineraries will reveal the charms of the regions crossed, with accommodation in gites.
For the less experienced, riding centres allow you to discover the pleasures of trekking and harness. 59 riding centres offer numerous opportunities for exploring the county on horseback. Others offer tours in horse-drawn caravans and covered wagons.
