Chalencon
At the heart of the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park, at an altitude of 700m, the granite houses of Chalencon (
) fan out across the mountain slopes.
Porte de Besse, Rue Royale and the mysterious square tower bear witness to its prestigious past as a fortress and barony.
From the top of this oppidum, you can view the foothills of the Alps and the Vercors to the east and the Eyrieux Valley to the west.
