Desaignes
Mediaeval and mountainous – two words sum up this village in the Doux Valley where the chestnut is king and which is surrounded by walls set with three monumental gates leading to the village square.
One of the largest mediaeval centres in the Ardèche in the eighteenth century, it has retained its Protestant church, beautiful Gothic houses and its castle dating from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
